Brand Connection

I believe that there exists at least one brand that has the same place in our life as our habits. This brand(s) becomes so indispensable that at times the real product name is replaced by this brand name! It could be a toothpaste, bottled water, cookies, phone anything. I have a similar brand connection with – AMUL (Anand Milk Union Limited). AMUL is basically a farmer’s association based in the State of Gujarat, India. The brand has a beautiful, humble story which can be read here. I almost become teary eyed as i talk about AMUL. I have lived with this name for 30 years. This brand for me and for lacs of Indians (i think i am pretty sure about this number) is synonymous to Butter, Milk, Yogurt and all things Dairy. This picture has an equally beautiful story as the brand. I clicked this picture when i visited the campus of AMUL this summer. Several villagers in Gujarat (in the western part of India) every day travel to AMUL milk collection centers loacted …

Photo Inspiration – Compassion

This picture is of a sign board pole in front of a street cafe at Pentai Cenang street, Langkawi. This was an instant click. I loved the colors the board had with different plates, which said “Hello” in different languages. I guess there were more than 30! The words which go with the picture, inspire to trash all negative thoughts and emotions of resentment. Once we rise above these feelings and cover them with the sheet of compassion, we become focused towards our dreams and hence growth!

Love for Art

Art always inspires me, be it in any form. However i have a little more inclination towards painting, music and crafts. No matter where they exist in the world, whether you know the language of the people who create them, whether you understand the lore behind it or not – doesn’t matter. All that matters is a heart that loves it in its true form and appreciates its purity. This picture was clicked at one of the local markets of Ahmedabad. It was a beautiful evening spent at the street at leisure, chit chatting with the craftsmen and sellers. The boxes in the picture are hand crafted and the art form is called “Meenakari”. Meenakari is like a burst of colors with hues of yellow, red, green in prominence. Do not the know the origin of this craft but it proudly nestles in the state of Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Sun, Sand & Beaches (Malaysia Trip Part 1)

People become averse to birthday celebrations as they grow old, I had a similar feeling until I realized that aging, after all,  is not that bad. You grow wiser, have saved some money and achieved certain milestones in your career. Turning 30 was special to me. It felt like another milestone. So, I decided to celebrate my 30th birthday at a location, which would mean liberation and true celebration. After much brainstorming and of course, considering the budget available, me and my partner zeroed Malaysia! We decided to cover two locations, one which would introduce us to the country culture and the other which would tell us the story of modernization. So, our first destination was – Langkawi. I just could not stop taking pictures of this beautiful island. I was spellbound by the blue waters, cluster of small islands and breathtaking views. Here we go, to soak into the visual beauty of the Malaysian Island: The above is an aerial view of Langkawi. This is not allowed but I took this picture while landing at …

Sun, Sand & Beaches (Malaysia Trip Part 1)

People become averse to birthday celebrations as they grow old, i had the same feeling until i realized that aging is not that bad after all! You grow wiser, you can look back and see all the good deeds and achievements you have accomplished in life and as you grow old you are in a better situation to fulfill your dreams – you have experience, reasonable money and a partner! Hence i decided to celebrate my 30 birthday at a place away from my country. A place which should be liberating and should give me a true sense of celebration. After much brainstorming and of course considering the budget available, me and my husband zeroed Malaysia! We decided to cover two locations, one which would give us a feel of the country culture and the other which would tell us the story of modernization of the country. So, our first destination was – Langkawi. I just cannot move forward without mentioning my wonderful experience with Malaysian Airlines. Comfortable journey, great food and jovial crew sums their …
